Youth philanthropists seek grant applications for youth-focused programming in Knox County
The Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) of the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon & Knox County is inviting applications for youth-centered programs and projects in Knox County. The deadline for submitting the two-page application for funding is Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, and the application is available for easy download under the Youth Philanthropy tab at www.knoxcf.org
YPI members represent all five Knox County high schools and have been trained in the practice of assessing community needs, inviting grant applications from youth programmers and providers, and evaluating applications for the purpose of making grants to eligible non-profit organizations, including school-based programs.
Grants of up to $2,000 may be requested, and the results of the competitive process will be announced in mid-February. More than $40,000 has been awarded to date by YPI members, which is conducting its fifth round of grant making in 2016.
Based on the results of their recent needs assessment process, YPI members in particle invite grant proposals that address the following identified youth issues: alcohol and drug use, stress and career/college pressure, smoking and tobacco use, bullying and discrimination.
More information about YPI grants can be obtained by contacting the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon & Knox County at 740-392-3270, or by email at [email protected].
