This year, rather than ask individuals to give to the Knox County Foundation on Giving Tuesday, the Foundation is asking individuals to help them give back to local organizations serving the community through their own Giving BACK Tuesday.

“Typically, nonprofit organizations have to go through our competitive grant process by completing a grant application and being reviewed by our Grants Committee for funding consideration. Through Giving BACK Tuesday, we are instead giving individuals a chance to nominate a nonprofit and we will work with that organization directly to find a project or program to fund in 2022,” said Lisa Lloyd, Program Director.

Starting on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30 and running through Tuesday, Dec. 14, people can nominate their favorite Knox County nonprofit organization (501c3) to receive one of five small grants. Nominations will be accepted through the Knox County Foundation’s Facebook page or Twitter.

“We are excited to get the community involved in this unique way to help fund our amazing local nonprofits,” stated Lloyd.

Qualifying nominees must be a local (Knox County) 501(c)3 entity, have not received grant funding from Knox County Foundation in last 12 months, and meet all other grant qualifications and guidelines outlined on the website. Winners will be announced in January 2022 and must be willing to work with the Foundation to identify a program or project to implement in 2022.
