GO TO GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION

The Knox County Foundation staff and leadership have been working diligently in the last week to launch and award a Non-profit Emergency Grant Funding program in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. Ten applications we received in the first week. Additional applications are anticipated over the next six weeks or more.

A total of $35,000 has been awarded to the following organizations: Food for the Hungry, Kno-Ho-Co Ashland Community Action Commission, Salvation Army, Winter Sanctuary, and SEOLS (Southeastern Ohio Legal Services). These organizations provide critical support such as food, shelter, assistance with utilities/rent, and legal services to the Knox County population.

Conversations between Knox County Foundation and Food for the Hungry, led to a collaborative effort between the two entities. The Foundation awarded an initial grant of $10,000 to Food for the Hungry, to streamline all food and nutrition-related requests, while requests from organizations providing other services critical to Knox County residents during this time can be made through the Foundation’s Non-profit Emergency Grant Funding process.

“This is a difficult time for many in our communities, including the nonprofit organizations who seek to serve people during challenging times like this,” said Program Director Lisa Lloyd. “KCF leadership is proud to be able to offer financial assistance to the nonprofits on the front lines in Knox County.”

Maximum operating supplement to be awarded per organization is $10,000. Full guidelines and the fillable PDF application can be found on KCF’s website, including organization eligibility and project and program criteria. Interested nonprofit organizations should fill out the application electronically and return it with the supporting financials to Lisa Lloyd at [email protected].
