MOUNT VERNON– Organizations wishing to apply for funding from the Youth Philanthropy Initiative, in any amount up to $2,000, may apply through Friday, Jan. 12, 2018. Grants are awarded for projects intended to address the needs of Knox County Youth, from 0 to 18.

New this year, the Youth Philanthropy Initiative also invites Knox County schools to submit applications for student led charitable projects. One project per school will be chosen to receive up to $500 for a unique, creative philanthropic project. Projects must be completed before December 31, 2018.

The application can be downloaded in PDF format under the “Youth Philanthropy Initiative” tab on Foundation’s website: https://www.knoxcf.org/

The Youth Philanthropy Initiative is composed of students representing all Knox County High Schools, who are dedicated to learning the skills associated with operating and funding non-profit organizations. Its grant making efforts are completely student-driven and distinct from the unrestricted grant program of the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon & Knox County.
