New Philanthropy Terms (through December 31, 2023)
The New Philanthropy Program was created by former Board Chair and philanthropist Karen Buchwald Wright to encourage sustained charitable giving within our community. Its focus is to increase the number of donor endowed funds held within the Knox County Foundation and encourage people to create their philanthropic legacy during their living years
With the New Philanthropy Program, any donor who contributes the at least $10,000 to an endowed Unrestricted, Field of Interest, Designated, or Donor Advised fund, or at least $25,000 to a named Scholarship fund, receives a 25% to 100% matching gift based on fund type and restrictions. This match, courtesy of the Ariel Corporation Donor-Advised Fund, is available for gifts of up to $50,000 per year, per individual or $100,000 for a married couple. The New Philanthropy Program match allows funds to achieve rapid growth not possible in any other type of charitable giving plan.
